Sadio Mane warns Liverpool teammate about new Watford signing: “He will kill you”

Sadio Mane has warned Liverpool teammate Andrew Robertson he will need his support against Watford newcomer Ismaïla Sarr this season.
The 21-year-old Senegalese winger joined last season’s FA Cup runners-up from Ligue 1 outfit Rennes in the summer for a reported £30m, making him the club’s joint-most expensive acquisition.

Who is Watford new boy Ismaila Sarr? Five key things to know…

  • Ismaïla Sarr joined Watford in the summer from Rennes for a reported £30m.
  • He becomes The Hornets most expensive signing.
  • At his previous club, Sarr registered 18 goals and 16 assists in 77 matches.
  • His compatriot Sadio Mane has warned Liverpool teammate Andrew Robertson that he would “kill you” if you’re not careful.
  • Sarr is hoping to make his debut against West Ham at home on August 24th.His move to England was subsequently welcomed by compatriot Mane, who played alongside Sarr at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Senegal reached the final, with Mane registering three goals in their run, but the Lions of Teranga were defeated 1-0 by Algeria.
Sarr’s arrival will provide Hornets boss Javi Gracia an option on the right flanks capable of playing across the forward line, with his recent goalscoring record an impressive eight goals across 35 league outings last term.
But it is his wing play and pace that Mane has identified as cause for concern among Premier League left-backs this season, including his colleague at Anfield“The first day he signed I sent him a message to say good luck and that I was happy for him,” he told The Athletic.
“He’s rapid. I think defenders will struggle. Last time I was speaking to Robbo (Andy Robertson) I said ‘Watford have a really good player. I will need to help you more otherwise Ismaila Sarr will kill you, because he is a good dribbler and very, very fast’.
“I’m really happy for him and he made the right choice to come to Watford. For sure I think he will be great.”
Watford play West Ham in gameweek three of the 2019/20 Premier League season, both teams looking for their first top-flight win of the campaign. Meanwhile, Mane’s Liverpool can become the division’s only side with a 100% win record for the season should they beat Arsenal at home on Saturday evening.
